Me The Decorator!

Well, I don't have too much to blog about tonight.
As most of you know, I LOVE design. I love decorating. It gets me a bit excited talking about it.
But I am going to be playing with a few more prints and such. I need to recover a few things in my house, and I thought this would be fun to spend a day in FabricLand!
I will update you then about the patterns I picked.

All By My Lonesome

Today is a sad day because it means I am home alone for a week. I like being home alone, but only for a certain period of time, and then I get lonely.
How do you like my overactive sad face
<---

Glen Went to Victoria to work on a bridge down in Sooke. I was supposed to go with, but my doctor's appointment falls on the day they come home, and we wouldn't have been back in time.

So, if any of my dear readers would like to grace me with your presence over the next week, I would very much LOVE that.
I will be doing a few projects like:
Making my Headboard
Baking/Cooking to freeze
Painting the rest of my crib
Recovering my Ottoman

Those are just a few things I plan to achieve.. but otherwise-POP OVER!

Collection of Shab & Chic

I thought I would blog about this, and if you read this, please COMMENT. Glen, and various other friends and family members have been encouraging me to start making and selling Shabby Chic Items I have restored to value.
I take something not worth any value, and usually strip it, sand it, paint it, stain etc.. it all depends on the item.
I have quite a few things that I've done for our personal use, but everyone has been encouraging me to do something about it, and try to advertise my work.
Here are a few items that I've done in my spare time.. Let me know what YOU think, is it worth perusing? Or just a fun hobby!

Perogy, Perogy!

Glen and I were wondering what to do today at two pm, so I decided why not try our hand at homemade perogies.

I must say, the 2 hour process started out as being fun, but once our backs started hurting, and the filing wasn't "filling" the dough well, we decided store bought perogies are much more fun to eat.
We started around 4:45, and Ate at roughly 7:10.. if you want a fun activity to fill your afternoon, this is it.
But be aware, A HUGE pile of dishes will await you. Trust me, I was just cooking for two.

Overall, they were yum-yum..

I'm Not The Only One

Okay, don't freak out. But I spent, 380.74 on two Down Duvet Comforters.
Yikes?
Well, in Campbell River, there are limited stores. What happens when people find a deal? They go deal crazy!
This morning I got up at 8 am, so I could make it to Zellers to find a number of women and men standing outside the Zellers entrance to have in on these deals.
Me being smart, and having gone in the night before, I knew the exact duvet to pick up ( they always seem to be mixed up in that isle, and it's impossible to find anything.
There were already 3 or 4 ladies who ran back before me who were diving through looking for the magic ones, while glen and I being smart, put one in Customer Service over night. The other, was in the duvet COVER isle.
So, we made it out with two comforters for 66.92 instead of 380.74. I still can't get over that amazing deal.

I had to give mine away when I moved back from Calgary, it wouldn't fit in my luggage.. and Glen needed one as his comforter is ancient.
Glen was nice enough to not only buy himself one, but me one too!

This is my indulge for the day.. and oh goodness, I hope I'm not the only one to go duvet crazy.

Slips of Happiness

I got to thinking today, what makes you feel special? It's a tough feeling to explain, it's the kinda feeling that when you do it, it makes you tingle inside, and anticipate what is to come. It's the kind of feeling that makes you enjoy little moments all by yourself, or craving more.
Does that explain it?
For me I got to thinking of what my little special happy moments are.
The first mandarin orange of the year, and thereafter each one holds some value.
New Tea's.
The other day I went and bought some high quality Peppermint Tea, and my first cup I felt as if I was really indulging myself.
Rain storms & Blizzards. I love to cuddle up inside, it makes me thankful for a cozy and yummy smelling house to curl up in and watch the disaster outside.
Naps.
Finding out about a NEW easy listening artist. Today for me it was, Brook Fraser.
Smelly Candles.
Warm Bubble Baths at random times. I like taking baths when I don't have to.
Spending all day cleaning your house and at the end of it, sitting back and enjoying it.

It made me realize that these little moments are SO good for us. Not only do they help shape us as a person, but they mold our day. They can make a terrible day go smooth.

A while back, I was having "thee" worst day. I know there are worst days out there, but being pregnant you become naive to that fact. Everything was wrong, wrong, wrong, and I came across a box of mandarin oranges..
and Glen sais "now look, you have two things that are going well today. The Rain, and your Orange"
It was true.. when you focus on the little things it can turn a day around. But, maybe that's to say that your day really wasn't that bad in the first place.

Ultrtasound 4!

Here's some baby photo's from my ultrasound 4.. at 18 weeks 4 days.
I swear it's a girl, I have a HUGE intuition... and when she showed us in between the legs it looked like girl parts..
So, I'm just going to tell people it's a girl. I feel it.
